The Avenue of the Baobabs
A treasure exposed to the open sky of the island of Madagascar: Spotted in the western part of the island, in the Menabe region between Belo sur Mer and Morondava, 20 km from the city of Morondava. Particularly known for its immense trees in alignment, with several Andosonia grandidieri being the most prevalent species, considered the most beautiful of Malagasy species which can reach up to 30 meters in height and 6 to 7 meters in diameter and often called « roots of the sky », with a distinctive silhouette of several hundred years old that is a testament to the ancient history of this region.
Moreover, its photogenic aspect and its natural beauty worthy of a postcard, especially at sunrise and sunset, the trunks of the baobabs stand out against the majestic colored sky and the history it preserves with it makes it particularly unique and incomparable.

Belonging to the species Andasonia grandidieri, this singular specimen attracts not only visitors for its majestic appearance but also for its spiritual and cultural value.
The sacred baobab is revered by the local populations for its connection with ancestors and its spiritual powers, because according to Malagasy belief, baobabs house the spirits of ancestors and local deities. It is known not only for its imposing size but also for its unique appearance with two intertwined trunks, which gives the impression of a couple of trees in love and it is thanks to this particular aspect that its name is drawn and makes it a considerable tourist attraction for Morondava and for Madagascar.
